The candidate will need to anticipate and resolve problems, prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and organize complex projects. CMS uses sophisticated simulation tools, developing programs to implement its mission of improving patient safety by training healthcare providers without subjecting patients to risk. Reporting to the Senior Director of CMS' Faculty Development Program (Institute for Medical Simulation) and the Chief Operating Officer, the Educational Coordinator’s primary focus will be to support CMS’s training offerings by communicating with course participants and faculty, arranging course materials, organizing schedules of educational programs, maintaining selected records, and performing administrative functions associated with producing educational offerings.The Educational Coordinator will demonstrate strong organizational, administrative, time management, and communication (both verbal and written) skills and possess the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and developing office. CMS provides a broad range of educational and training programs to physicians, other health care providers, and educators emphasizing training in teamwork, management of critical events in patient care and the use of simulation for healthcare education.

GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:The Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) is a collaborative effort of the Harvard Medical School and its affiliated hospitals with faculty and staff employed via the Massachusetts General Hospital and Physicians Organization.

The ideal candidate will posses the skills to efficiently run and operate the Anesthesia Simulation Education Programs. The position is located in the Center for Medical Simulation (CMS) located within the Charlestown Navy Yard.
